We don’t want to see our friends, our neighbors, and our own families displaced by gentrification — we support strong laws to protect tenants and even stronger efforts to build thousands of housing units affordable to our working families and future generations. We don’t believe we need to bulldoze neighborhoods to create the new housing we need — we can put more housing where it makes sense. We want to bring all our unhoused neighbors indoors — starting with better use of the hundreds of shelter beds that go unfilled because of City Hall mismanagement, and ending with permanent supportive placements for people who need them to stay housed.

We believe that San Francisco city government needs to work more effectively and more efficiently — and that the dysfunction and corruption at City Hall needs to come to an end. 

We want every neighborhood and every community to be safe, and we support better funded, more robust, citywide community policing, with more neighborhood ambassadors, and more resources for the proven diversion and re-entry programs that keep people on the right track.

We know that mental health and substance use disorders are public health problems, not just public safety problems, and that we need expanded behavioral health services to address them.

And we know that we need an economy that works for our city’s working families, small businesses, artists and students, and for all San Franciscans who nurture our unique culture of inclusion and innovation.
